A very well made Mukomachi chisel, but I have no idea who the blacksmith was. The last two photos show the depressions on the top and sides of the chisel. The Mukomachi chisels made nowadays rarely have this design, which can effectively reduce the friction between the chisel and the wood when making the mortise.
